Samia Taqi

Née à Londres en 1980, Samia Taqi a passé son enfance à Hong Kong puis vécu au Pakistan durant 14 ans. Désirant échapper aux contraintes sociales et poursuivre sa passion pour les arts, elle a ensuite étudié en graphisme à Singapour. Déménagée au Canada en 2004, elle s'est inscrite à l'OCAD University, où elle a complété son baccalauréat en graphisme (illustration) sous la direction de l'estimé professeur et illustrateur Jean-Christian Knaff. Outre sa passion pour l'illustration, Samia affectionne les arts littéraires et les activités dans la nature.

Born in London in 1980, Samia Taqi spent her childhood in Hong Kong, then lived in Pakistan for fourteen years. Wanting to escape social constraints and pursue her passion for the arts, she studied graphic design in Singapore. She moved to Canada in 2004 and enrolled at OCAD University, where she completed her Bachelor of Graphic Design (illustration) under the guidance of esteemed professor and illustrator Jean-Christian Knaff. Besides her passion for illustration, Samia loves the literary arts and activities in nature. 

Christine Gnimagnon-Adjahi

Titulaire d’un doctorat en géographie, Christine Adjahi vit en France depuis 1969, où elle a fait ses études. Parallèlement à sa carrière en enseignement, elle nourrit une véritable passion pour les contes traditionnels de son pays d’origine, le Bénin. Auteure de plusieurs recueils de contes traditionnels et metteure en scène de certains d’entre eux, elle s’illustre surtout par ses talents de conteuse. Elle se consacre exclusivement à sa passion pour les contes depuis son admission à la retraite en 2006. Par sa participation à des festivals du conte, elle est engagée dans la lutte pour sauvegarder la culture de l’oralité au Bénin.

Christine Adjahi has lived in France since 1969, where she completed her Doctorate of Geography. Alongside her teaching career, she has a real passion for traditional tales from her country of origin, Benin. The author of several collections of traditional tales and the stage director of some of them, she distinguishes herself primarily by her talent for storytelling. She has dedicated herself exclusively to her passion for storytelling since her retirement in 2006. She is committed to preserving the oral culture in Benin through her participation in storytelling festivals. 

Allison Mitcham

Allison Mitcham a résidé pendant plusieurs années au Nouveau-Brunswick. Elle a été professeure de littérature anglaise et canadienne comparée. Elle est l'auteure de plusieurs articles, 22 livres (fiction, poésie et non-fiction) et co-auteure de 4 livres. Son oeuvre littéraire a été recensée dans six anthologies. En 1994, son livre TAKU a reçu la médaille du Lieutenant-gouverneur de la Colombie-Britannique et le Prix de la Fédération historique de la la C.-B.

Allison Mitcham has resided in New Brunswick for several years. She has been a professor of English and comparative Canadian literature and is the author of many articles, twenty-two books (fiction, poetry, and non-fiction) and the co-author of four books. Her literary work has appeared in six anthologies. In 1994, her book TAKU received the Lieutenant-Governor's Award and the Prix de la fédération historique, both from British-Columbia.
